“The Nostalgic Bride” Finally Got Hitched: #DanAndAyie Nuptial

“For you are my sunniest good morning

and my sweetest good night

Today, I will make you my wife –

the brightest STAR in my life”

– Dan (01.23.16)

January 23, 2016 was the day Daniel and I finally got hitched. After 6 (or 7 years..?) years, we have officially tied the knot! Join me, as I reminisce our journey to our own version of “Forever”.

Daniel Honda aka Dan and (I) Loraine Federizo aka Ayie (The Nostalgic Bride) got engaged  on the 19th day of January in 2015 in Tagaytay. We didn’t have the usual photo/video to officially capture the moment but for us, it was perfect. Most importantly, the timing of Dan’s proposal was also perfect; 1. I was on my final semester in grad school – few weeks before my defense, 2. my dad finally recovered from a heart attack, and  3. I felt emotionally ready to be Mrs. Honda (#SaTamangPanahon Lol 😁)

So, after a year of preparation, we have finally come to this. The moment we both have been waiting for – our wedding day. The memory of our wedding is still fresh on my mind that I can still remember vividly every moment of laughter and tears that were shed during that day. I can still hear the cheers of loved ones and friends who were all supportive ever since.

Dan and I felt the love that everyone has for us. Thus, let me take this opportunity to say,”Thank you for the love, for the support, and for coming on our day! It meant a lot for both of us. You’ve all made our wedding day so beautiful.”

I know that there are so many people that we have to thank for and I’m not just talking about our family and friends. I’m also talking about the people or the team of suppliers who helped in making our wedding day more memorable for all.

Don’t worry. I’ll be releasing a series of articles / reviews dedicated to each of our suppliers. I’ll tell you every itsy bitsy detail – from our first impressions to our final verdict.

For now, please enjoy browsing the moments captured by ProudRad and video provided by Motion Diaries! ❤️

The Preparations

Dan and I chose the New World Hotel in Makati as our venue for preparations. Out of all the hotels we visited around the area, New World Hotel was able to impress us with their location (few blocks from the church), the service (very kind and accommodating staff and lots of privileges offered e.g. VIP lounge), and their rates (reasonable and didn’t require any additional fee for photo/video shoot in the common areas).

On the day of the wedding, Nanan Villalba Hair and Make Up Team arrived at exactly 8 AM. Nanan Villalba personally did my make up while George Delfin did my hair. They were also the ones responsible for making all my bridesmaids and our parents look beautiful (I’m one of those brides that wanted her entourage to look their prettiest. lol 😊)

A few minutes after, Events Embassy, our event coordinator composed of 9 pro-looking people arrived in my suite. From there, I didn’t worry about anything.

Btw, the white robe I wore during the preparation was custom made by Bride House Philippines.

The Bride

My simple and classic white off-shoulder ball gown was made by the Von Lazaro. The lace off-shoulder was actually detachable and can be worn as a second-look during the reception.

The Groom

Dan’s charcoal grey 5 piece suit was custom made by Onésimus.

The Entourage

The Bridesmaids’ gowns and our parents’ gowns were made by Bride House Philippines. The boys’ neck/bow ties were all custom made by Paulo Lazaro Design.

The Ceremony

A solemn ceremony was held at St. John Bosco Parish Church in Makati. It was officiated by our family friend/priest, Rev. Fr. Jacinto Beltran who came all the way from Nueva Ecija.

The Reception

The celebration continued at 1 Esplanade Bldg. in MOA. Dan and I were actually curious with the outcome of our venue. Hence, we were surprised to see the effort made by our suppliers.

The venue was transformed by Scenta Creations Event Styling in collaboration with Sound Level Production on lights and sounds. Our monogram by Ink Scribbler was made into a screensaver/gif by my cousin. It complimented the whole mood and style of the event by flashing it through the LED Wall.

Food and drinks were provided by Hizon’s Catering while the guests were serenaded by Sweet Soul Session Band with a special performance from Joshua Desiderio of Freestyle.

The event was hosted by Mrya Lorenzo .

    1. Hi Louise! Thank you! Congrats also on your wedding. I was so tempted to ask for your permission if I could feature your wedding on my blog. Na-shy ako. Haha. On blogging, I actually don’t know if what I’m doing is ok or what. Lol 😁. But since it’s coming from you, then I guess, I’m doing ok.
