That Perfect “White Dress”: The #DanAndAyie Wedding Supplier Review Series Part 1

One of the most crucial things to consider when planning a wedding is finding that perfect “white dress”. Soon-to-be brides can either buy ready-to wear (RTW) bridal dresses or choose to have their gowns custom-made.

In my case, the road to  (forever) finding that perfect white dress was a little bit frustrating and exciting. The former because I had to find time and meet several designers and tried several RTW gowns. The latter because I get to feel like a princess by trying different gorgeous dresses (lol ).

Choosing is difficult. Hence, there’s a big need to keep in mind the factors or priorities when choosing the supplier of that “perfect white dress”. So, here are my conditions prior sealing the “deal”:

  • Reputation – This could be optional to others. But for me, this is very important. Browsing their social medial sites, reading through forums or previous write-ups, and reading clients’ feedback makes me see or deliberate if I’m going to get their service.
  • Customer Service – I’ve always inquire first through email. I think this is more formal instead of sending text messages. It is also better since everything you discussed will be documented. Plus, this will give you an idea how prompt the suppliers are in answering potential client’s inquiry/ies.

I still remember sending 1 draft template for all designers before. My email include questions like rate for my peg and MY preferred schedule for an appointment. Why ask the rate? At least I have an idea how much my “ideal” gown will cost, thus, saving us (in both ways) time and effort.

As for the appointment, I always get turned off with designers or shops that makes you feel like you’re the one who has to adjust to their (moods) schedules (I know I’m not VIP but..hello?! potential paying customer here..).

  • Rate –  If the rate is reasonable or within my preferred budget range.
  • Location – It would be better if the supplier’s location is around Makati.
  • Package Inclusion/s (if there’s any) – e.g. freebies and others.

Von Lazaro Design

With that said, after so many appointments (and heartaches) with different designers and RTW shops, I finally found my one true love (Lol.☺️).

  • Reputation :

I was browsing through Facebook when suddenly I saw a wedding gown made by Von Lazaro. It was a gown intended for another client. Immediately, I searched his Facebook page and other social media sites as well as previous blogs regarding the designer. Nevertheless, my heart was pounding so bad that I had to talk to him the soonest.

  • Customer Service :

I’ve sent an email and I got a response instantly. It was a plus point for me that he was very nice and accommodating. Despite his busy schedule, he was able to squeeze me on his next day’s appointment. He was also kind enough to give me a straightforward answer on his estimated rate for my peg. Therefore, I have an idea or I was able to gauge early if I’m going through with the appointment.

  • Rate :

Would you believe that Von Lazaro’s rate starts from Php 60k only? Of course, it depends on your preferred design and details of the gown. But as for my peg, the rate was within my budget range.

  • Location :

Another point is that his showroom is located few blocks from my condo in Makati. It’s so near and convenient that I could even take a tricycle going to his shop.

Von Lazaro’s showroom is located at 9496 Anubing Street, San Antonio Village, Makati City.

  • Package Inclusion/s:

Aside from the gown, the package includes:  5 meters Bride’s Veil (Plain), Headdress, Pouch Bag, Garter Lace, Secondary Veil, 2 Pillows, Cord, Arrhae, On-The-Day Mannequin Setup, and Bridal Assistance/Dress-Up.

The Making of that “Perfect White Dress”

It started with photos of my peg and Von Lazaro’s ideas then it became a masterpiece. Von Lazaro and his team were very professional and meticulous that I had to visit his shop several times during the year for measurement and fitting.

I was also impressed with their time management skills. My gown was already available for pick up by January 10, 2016 (2 weeks before our wedding!)

On the day of the wedding…

I would like to take this opportunity of expressing my sincere gratitude to Von Lazaro and team. You guys were awesome! It was an unforgettable and fun journey with you guys! You’ve made me look like a princess on our special day (lol). If given the chance to rate the whole experience with 5 as highest and 1 as lowest, I would give you and your team a perfect 5!

Kudos and hoping to see more beautiful brides by Von Lazaro Design!

Did you know that Von dropped by the hotel to personally assist in dressing me up? I was surprised! I was only informed that there will be two members of his team who will assist me on that day. It was so sweet! I was so touched that I almost cried. ❤️
