Laura’s Floral Designs in Nueva Ecija is Going 1

While taking orders online, answering calls and texts from clients, updating our Facebook and IG pages, and to being a rookie Mom and wife, I happen to stumble upon our post regarding our store’s First Year Anniversary.

It got me feeling nostalgic.

Has it been a year already? Time surely flies so fast! From a not-so-serious discussion of potential business here in Nueva Ecija, to my mom’s retirement, to having a small booth in front of our garage, and (now) to a 7,800+ followers on Facebook, we’ve really come a very long way! So excuse me if I happen to use my own page to rant about this! So for those who are (not) interested, you may or may not proceed reading this. (lol)

A year ago, my mom was thinking of something to do after her corporate-life. While I, on one hand, was adjusting to being married and being heavily pregnant. Given my super sensitive pregnancy,  I wasn’t able to go back to corporate work . Hence, the idea of coming up with our own business came to mind. And who would be the perfect partner?

So, my mom and I started brainstorming. We tried answering the questions, “what’s our passion?”. My mom said, “if she weren’t a bank employee, she would be a florist”. On the other hand, I like styling (or anything kikay or maarte). Hence, I told her, “why not? Let’s make our dream business come true”. We got lots of feedback when we announced that we’re planning to open a flower shop. Some were very supportive and some were very indifferent about it.  It was a risk since flowers are not really a basic necessity. But what the heck!

Our First Pop-Up Booth in front of our garage along San Lorenzo, Gapan City.

It took months of planning as well as help from our family and finally, we were able to launch our first pop-up booth in front of our garage just to test the market. I remember that it was All Soul’s Day. So imagine our surprise when we got more than 100+ orders! We were touched because we were given an immediate warm welcome.

Just like any other businesses out there, we commit mistakes and we learned from it. So by February 10, 2017, our showroom finally opened to the public.

We wanted to be the very FIRST in Nueva Ecija to be known for contemporary floral arrangement by bringing imported blooms whether fresh or preserved as well as introducing the first-ever premium blooms in buckets/boxes. Of course, it doesn’t stop there. We commit to continuously bring more fresh ideas here in our province.

This is a dream-come-true for my Mom and I. The fruit of our hard work and sleepless nights was oh-so-worth it.

So, let me take this opportunity to show our gratitude to the team behind Laura’s. More importantly, I’d also like to give thanks to those clients who gave us their trust and opportunity to show our capabilities. Thank you! We wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for all of you!

And as “thank you”, we are still accepting entries to our First Year Anniversary Giveaway. Make sure you follow the instructions to qualify and submit it to us before February 10, 2018 by tagging us and using the hashtag #Lauras1Year
